Ajay Ohri – Corporate Poetry & More

Who is Ajay Ohri?
Ajay Ohri has been working in the field of data mining and analytics since 2004.  He is an alumnus of IIM Lucknow and Delhi College of Engineering. He blogs on http://www.decisionstats.com/ and writes poetry part time.

His poetry focuses on a simple 4 line classical rhyme technique, and Ajay writes on contemporary topics like a common man, outside in view on Corporate  Office happenings, Politics and Current Affairs. He has already written two books and his third book is a work in progress on his blog www.iwannacrib.com.

Where are you from?
India

Why do you write poetry?
Because I can.

What inspires you?
Events, moods, emotions, observations.

What is the underlying message in your work – if there is one?
Don’t get bored.

Why a book on “corporate poetry?”  What are you saying?
I am a bit of a reluctant corporate traveler, being a creative person who works in the corporate world, because the day job pays the bills.

What are your future plans with your art – your aspirations?  Will you stay with writing books, do you also write stories?
I do write stories already, and also cartoons. Check out www.iwannacrib.com

Most of us hope our art changes the world, or inspires people to change.  Are you looking to make such an impact or merely expressing yourself through words?
I don’t know what my art will do. I hope whatever happens happens for the good. I mostly express myself through words, but I do hope they are read, and make a difference sometimes.

In Case I Don’t See You Again

Deep in thought
As life passes me by
Opportunities abound but
I neither care nor I try

Writing poetry without rhyme
Seems to be an amusing pass time
Of people who failed Literature study
Instead decided to write modern poetry

In this corporate world Of chases, hunts and kills
Some swear by the money Some swear by the thrills
We really couldn’t care
For these fancy trimmings and frills
While the rest of the world burns, my friend
You and your friend chills.
